Executive Summary

Dr. Ofer Guterman has 25 years’ cumulative experience in applied research aimed at assisting organizational decision-making. As an IDF Colonel (Res.), Ofer had a long career in the IDF Military Intelligence Directorate, serving in a series of senior roles in the Research Department and the Northern Command, and as Intelligence Aide of the Military Secretary to the Prime Minister. Concurrently, he completed academic studies in a wide range of fields in the humanities and social sciences.

Ofer has extensive and unique experience in academic, intelligence, and business collection and research methodologies; information and knowledge development process management; trend research and risk assessment; and strategic planning.

Ofer is also a researcher, writer, and lecturer at various venues, within his membership in the Institute for the Research of the Methodology of Intelligence.


Education

Ofer holds a Ph.D. degree from Ben Gurion University, and an M.A. and B.A. degree, cum laude, from Tel Aviv University, in various areas of the humanities and social sciences. He has completed courses on web intelligence (WEBINT) and market research.

Ofer is a senior research fellow at the Institute for the Research of the Methodology of Intelligence. He is a member of the Israel Directors’ Union (IDU).
